The OKTOBERFEST CHATTANOOGA CHALLENGE pairs an amazing bike ride with the best beer festival in the Southeast, making OCTOBER 13-14, 2018 the perfect weekend to cap off the cycling season! Choose between a full 100-mile century or a 50-mile half-century and see why Chattanooga is the Cycling Capital of the East! With scenery this good, there's no need for timing chips and race-pace KOM's. Instead we offer fantastic cycling and the six fundamental ingredients that make for a perfect Saturday ride:
Both routes include the signature climb up Chattanooga's iconic Lookout Mountain (on a traffic-free closed road!), beautiful views, gorgeous valley rides, and fun descents!
Registration runs between $40 and $60, depending on when you register, with food, beer, t-shirt, bottle, and other benefits & swag included!
You'll have access to plenty of well-stocked rest stops (thanks to REI) plus professional SAG support from REI, Cycle Sport , and Velo View Bike Tours.
The registration fee includes tickets for post-ride food (including a meatless option) and a couple of beers at Oktoberfest!
There's plenty of parking at Finley Stadium where we'll start and finish the ride. And your registration includes the parking fee!
While there are no guarantees when it comes to Mother Nature, October is historically Chattanooga's driest month and generally offers cool mornings and perfect afternoons with average high temps in the low 70's!
